Mary Ellen Kane Bonnette

Richmond Hill- Mary Ellen Kane Bonnette, 94, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in Savannah to Robert Lee Kane and Ellen Smith Blair Kane and was the last surviving sibling of their ten children. She graduated from Savannah Commercial High School, Class of 1937, before her marriage to James Lee Bonnette. He was in the U.S. Army, and during his service they were stationed in many different areas of the country and overseas. Mrs. Bonnette was a life-long Baptist and attended Calvary Baptist Church and Windsor Forest Baptist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts, was an accomplished seamstress and spent many years as a volunteer with local hospitals. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death are her husband of sixty-nine years, James Bonnette, and daughter, Patricia Bonnette Wolfe.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Kelly Bonnette of Roswell, GA, and Harold Thomas Bonnette of Asheville, NC; daughter, Judith Bonnette Moore of Warner Robins, GA; grandson, Kane Duran Bonnette (Melody); great-grandsons, Michael James Bonnette and Eli Andrew Bonnette, all of Roswell, GA, and devoted friends, the Dennis Christiansen Family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Madison Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Manor on the Coast, 141 Timber Trail, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
